APPLICATION
FEE: $100. (non-refundable)
APPLICATION PROCESS : Inquiries
are from September (until December) for the following fall admissions.
Parents must return the application form before arranging an interview.
These are scheduled beginning November 1st. The application fee
will be refunded if no interview is arranged.
All applicants who have been interviewed are
notified no later than March 15th. The school maintains a waiting
list for openings that may occur in mid-year.
RE-ENROLLMENT/SIBLING ENROLLMENT
Effective January 2012:
Automatic re-enrollment will be accorded first to families with no intention to switch schools.
Families who intend to switch schools may nevertheless request to be placed on the wait-list if their child is not accepted in an other school.
STAFF: Two French native teachers per each class plus a classroom
assistant.
The Directors also participate in special projects throughout the
year.
FACILITIES:
The school is located on the bottom floor of a townhouse (The Directors
live and hold their offices directly above). There are two large
rooms to be used by each class. In addition the children use a
safe kitchen, a well-equipped backyard playground and a computer
area.
One of the rooms also functions as a children's
art gallery for Jardin
Galerie Ltd, a not-for-profit oganization founded by CoDirector
John Hiigli in 2001. Exhibits are scheduled regularly throughout
the year.
SEPARATION: Parents or caregivers may remain
for the two-week period when school first begins; then they must
leave. Parents are encouraged to leave sooner if the child is ready.
PARENT INVOLVEMENT:
Parent/teacher conferences are scheduled once a year and whenever
needed. Group meetings are also scheduled to address specific topics.
The school has an open door policy and parents are welcomed in
the classroom anytime to participate. Parents must attend the initial
orientation before school begins in the fall.
FINANCIAL: A non-refundable
deposit of 3,000 is due on signing the enrollment contract.
The remaining balance is payable in two equal installments, April
1st and September 1st. An alternative payment plan is available
upon request. There are no scholarships, financial aid or sibling
discounts.
GRADUATES: have gone on to Dalton, Collegiate,
Calhoun, Columbia Grammar, Ethical Culture, Riverdale Country,
Horace Mann, Hunter Elementary, Lycée Francais, Marymount,
Spence, Trevor Day, Trinity, Dwight, Brearley and others.
AFFILIATIONS: The preschool is a limited Liability

The children's art gallery, Jardin Galerie, is a not-for -profit
organization
